Nepal has defeated home team Scotland by 2 wickets in the second match of the T20I triangular series held in Scotland on Tuesday.
In the first match on Monday, Nepal lost to Netherlands in the third super over by two wickets. On the other hand, Scotland had defeated Netherlands by 39 runs in its first match.
Chasing the 98-run target set by Scotland, Nepal reached it in 19.5 overs losing 8 wickets.
For Nepal's win over the opponent, Kushal Bhurtel topped the score with 30 runs including 4 fours off 35 deliveries followed by Dipendra Singh Airee with 14 runs while Basir Ahamad and Kiran Thagunna contributed 13 and 10 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not achieve double-digit runs.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Titwood Cricket Ground in Glasgow on Tuesday, Scotland notched up 97 runs losing all wickets in 19.4 overs.
Michael Leask's 46-run was the highest for Scotland. Leask hit 4 fours and 1 six off 46 balls, followed by Matthew Cross with 15 runs while Brandon McMullen contributed 10 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
In reply, Sandeep Lamichhane took the highest 4 wickets, giving away 11 runs, while Dipendra Sing Airee and Karan KC grabbed 2 wickets each. Similarly, Lalit Rajbanshi claimed 1 wicket for Nepal.
