The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has announced that the monsoon has spread across the country starting today, (June 20).
Issuing a monsoon arrival bulletin on Friday, the Division has informed that the monsoon system has now expanded throughout the country. "This year's monsoon system has spread across the entire country today," reads the bulletin.
In Nepal this year, the monsoon entered the eastern region, Koshi Province, on May 29. Fourteen days later, it spread to Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, some areas of Gandaki Province, and a few places in the eastern region of Lumbini Province.
However, starting today, the Weather Division has confirmed that the monsoon has reached all parts of the country.
According to meteorologists, the monsoon usually enters Nepal on June 13 and spreads across the country within a week.
But this year, the monsoon entered Nepal 15 days earlier than the average date and took 23 days to spread across the entire country.
