Asar 15 is celebrated as National Paddy Day in Nepal. Everyone including the President to ministers and political leaders, gathered in the fields to celebrate Paddy Day festival today.
To mark this speical Day, President Ram Chandra Paudel participated in a planting program organized by the Office of the President at Sheetal Niwas. Apart from him, government ministers and leaders of various political parties joined farmers in their fields to participate in the planting.
Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ramnath Adhikari, took part in the festival to mark the 22nd National Paddy Day organized by the Center for Crop Development and Agrobiodiversity Conservation (CCDABC), Department of Agriculture, National Farmers' Commission, and National Crop Science Research Center (NARC) in Khumaltar.

Likewise, former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, inaugurated the National Paddy Day and Planting Program on Sunday by handing out paddy seeds at Dharmasthali, Tarkeshwar Municipality-6. The event was organized by the All Nepal Peasants' Federation and CPN (Unified Socialist) Tarkeshwar on the occasion of National Paddy Day.

Nepali Congress National Assembly Parliamentary Party leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula participated in a rice planning festival organized by Nepal Peasants' Federation by tilling the filed using buffaloes in Haldibari in Jhapa.
