Nepalkhabar to host ‘Rising Nepal Summit 2025’ to unlock investment and enable growth

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, Nepalkhabar is organizing ‘Rising Nepal Summit 2025’ on Thursday under the theme "Unlocking Investment, Enabling Growth."

The summit will bring together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to explore Nepal’s economic prospects, identify challenges in investment facilitation, and formulate a shared vision for sustainable growth.

The program will feature keynote addresses by distinguished speakers, including former President Bidya Devi Bhandari, renowned economist Dr Yubraj Khatiwada, who is Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and industry doyen like Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

The summit will feature two sessions -- one on domestic investment and the other on foreign direct investment. The first session will focus on domestic investment, exploring trends and prospects for mobilizing domestic capital across various sectors.

The reputed panelists like Senior Vice President of FNCCI Anjan Shrestha, Managing Director of Nimbus Anand Bagaria, Deputy Managing Director of Hotel Mechi Crown Ashlesha Karki and Director General of Department of Industry Rajeshwor Gyawali will join Consulting Editor of Nepalkhabar, Kuber Chalise, in a discussion on possibilities of doubling the investment and employment by 2084 BS – a milestone year coinciding with national elections.

Likewise, the second session will focus on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), featuring a panel of seasoned experts, including Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce (NICCI) Vice President Ravi Kumar Rayavaram, Daraz Managing Director Anchal Kunwar, Adhyant Fund Management chair Manoj Paudel and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Jitendra Basnet.

Moderated by CA Seshmani Dahal, the discussion will explore strategies to position Nepal as a competitive investment destination, with the goal of doubling FDI inflows and boosting employment opportunities.

Similarly, the key attraction of the Summit, ‘Nepalkhabar Conversation’, a candid dialogue on Nepal’s political economy and investment climate will feature former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and former minister Dr Minendra Rijal.

Presented by Global IME Bank, the annual flagship event of Nepalkhabar, Rising Nepal Summit 2025 seeks to serve as a high-level platform for fostering trust, dialogue, and strategic collaboration among policy leaders, private sector investors, and development stakeholders.
