The oath-taking ceremony of the newly appointed ministers of Bagmati Province has been postponed. The swearing-in ceremony which was scheduled for 1 PM today was adjourned until further notice.
Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama on Wednesday appointed three ministers even after losing his position as the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader of Bagmati Province.
Issuing a press note on Thursday, the Office of the Chief of Bagmati Province said the oath-taking ceremony of newly appointed ministers Govinda Lamsal (Minister for Internal Affairs and Law), Gita Gurung (Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation) and Maya Shrestha (Minister for Youth and Sports) has been postponed.
The ceremony has been postponed until further notice due to illness of Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota. Devkota has left for Kathmandu for treatment, according to Devendra Sapkota, the spokesperson of the Chief of Bagmati Province.
"The oath-taking ceremony of newly appointed ministers scheduled for 1 PM has been postponed due to illness of Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota. Devkota has flown to Kathmandu for treatment," reads the press note issued by the Office of the Bagmati Province.
