As many as 32 Nepali migrant workers have lost their lives in the first month of the current fiscal year (FY).
According to the Nepali Embassy in UAE, 32 people lost their lives in the line of duty in the first month the current fiscal year. They had gone to UAE for foreign employment.
Similarly, 30 people had lost their lives in the UAE in the first month of the previous fiscal year. In the Fiscal Year 2081/082 BS, A total of 312 people had lost their lives.
Likewise, 231 people had lost their lives in the fiscal year 2080/81. According to the Embassy, most deaths were caused primarily due to road accidents, heart attacks and workplace incidents, among others.
In the previous fiscal year, an average of 26 Nepali migrant workers died each month.
More than 11 Nepali nationals lost their lives due to consumption of methanol-laced liquor in Kuwait last week. Some Nepalis are still undergoing treatment in the hospital, the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait has said.
