Govt unveils PM Oli's China visit schedule from Aug 30 to Sept 3

The government has made public the China visit schedule of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

According to a press note issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, Prime Minister Oli will embark on a five day official visit to China from August 30 to September 3 at the coordial invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Oli is leaving for the northern neighbor to take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit scheduled to be held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1.

He is scheduled to address the SCO plus summit in Tianjin on September 1.

He will also hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Vice President Han Zheng among other world leaders participating in the summit during his China visit.

The Prime Minister will also participate in commemorative events to be organized in Beijing to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on 3 September, according to the press statement issued by the Foreign Ministry. 

Prime Minister's entourage will comprise Raghuji Pant, Minister for Education, Science and Technology; Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; Purna Bahadur Khadka, Member of the Parliament; Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Economic and Development Advisor to the Prime Minister; Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Member of Parliament; and high-ranking government officials.

Prime Minister and his delegation will return to Kathmandu on 3 September 2025.

on the Visit of Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Mr. K P Oli to the People’s Republic of China

Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Mr. K P Sharma Oli is paying a visit to the People's Republic of China from 30 August to 3 September 2025 at the cordial invitation of H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 and the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Radhika Shakya.

The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, in Tianjin. Prime Minister Oli will address the SCO Plus Summit in Tianjin on 1 September. On the sidelines of SCO Summit, the Prime Minister will meet some world leaders attending the Summit.

Likewise, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister will meet with H.E. Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China in Beijing on 2 September. The Prime Minister will also participate in commemorative events to be organized in Beijing to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on 3 September.

The entourage of the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister will comprise Hon. Mr. Raghuji Pant, Minister for Education, Science and Technology; Hon. Mr. Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; Hon. Mr. Purna Bahadur Khadka, Member of the Parliament; Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Economic and Development Advisor to the Prime Minister; Hon. The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister and his delegation will return to Kathmandu on 3 September 2025.
