Private school operators have staged a bus rally against the School Education Bill.

Members of the Private and Boarding Schools’ Organization Nepal (PABSON), the National Private and Boarding Schools’ Organization Nepal (N-PABSON) and the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN), among others have staged a bus rally around Ring Road, wielding black flags and banners.

Buses of private schools had been asked to gather at a place on Ring Road convenient to them to join the bus rally.

Private school operators are upping the ante demanding the removal of the provision of the School Education Bill that states the private schools registered under the company act will be "gradually made non-profit making institutes, gradually."

They also demand that the provision requiring them to provide full scholarships must be removed, and the policy that mandates schools to provide uniforms, textbooks, educational materials, transportation, food, and snacks as part of the scholarship should be abolished.
