In a notable encounter at the Constitution Day reception hosted by President Ramchandra Paudel, Sudan Gurung, a youth leader from the non-governmental organization 'We Nepal,' met with Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa. The brief four-minute conversation took place at Sheetal Niwas, where prominent figures from various sectors had gathered to exchange greetings.

Gurung, who rose to prominence following the Gen-Z movement on September 8-9, told Nepalkhabar that he urged Thapa to help protect the achievements of the recent youth-led protests. "We talked for three to four minutes. I told him that the Gen-Z movement, despite some loss of life and property, is yielding certain gains, and I asked him to help protect them," Gurung said. "I also told him that the old way of doing things isn't working anymore and won't be accepted."

According to Gurung, Thapa responded positively, stating that he has been closely observing the movement and the presence of the youth. Thapa reportedly told Gurung that he has already begun working within Nepali Congress to address the demands of the youth and align the party's approach with the Gen-Z style.

"He told me he is keeping a close eye on the Gen-Z movement and the post-movement environment," Gurung added. "He also said he's started working within the party to address the demands of the Gen-Z and to move forward in the same style as them."

Gurung expressed satisfaction that Thapa was well-informed and genuinely interested in the demands and movement of the youth. He added that he did not have the opportunity to speak with any other political leaders at the event.
