Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has used a bulldozer to demolish structures built on Nepal Scout land by the company belonging to former Energy Minister and Nepali Congress leader, Deepak Khadka.
The land, located in Lainchaur, Kathmandu, belonging to the Scout, was being used by Khadka Land Development Pvt. Ltd., the company of former Energy Minister Khadka, under the condition of paying rent. However, after the company failed to pay the rent, the Scout issued a notice on November 6, giving them a 7-day deadline to clear the outstanding rent.

After that deadline expired, the Scout's land was cleared on Thursday with the cooperation of the Metropolitan City.
Youth and Sports Minister Babulal Gupta himself was present during the demolition of the structures. The Sports Minister's secretariat informed that the Scout's land was cleared under the leadership of Minister Gupta.
An agreement was signed in 2008 between Nepal Scout and Khadka Land Development Pvt. Ltd. to occupy and use the 3 ropanis of government land, plot number 10, adjacent to the Department of Mines in Lainchaur. Although the 10-year lease agreement had already expired in 2018, the company had not vacated the land.
