Sudurpaschim Royals has defeated Kathmandu Gorkhas by 29 runs in the fourth match of the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Sudurpaschim bowled Kathmandu out for 118 runs in 16.5 overs while the latter was chasing the 148-run target.
To restrict Kathmandu to such a low score, Scott Kuggeleijn, Hemanta Dhami and Harmeet Singh took 2 wickets each while Ishan Pandey, Naren Saud and Abinash Bohara grabbed 1 wicket each for Sudurpaschim.
None of the batsmen of Kathmandu could score any significant runs. Aakash Tripathi's 34-run score was the highest for Kathmandu. Similarly, Simpson, Bhim Sarki and Milind Kumar scored 24, 12 and 11 runs, respectively. Sunny Patel contributed 10 runs. The other batsmen could not score double-digit runs.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Wednesday, Sudurpaschim notched up 147 runs losing all wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Harmeet Singh topped score with 53 runs including 2 fours and 6 sixes off 20 deliveries followed by Dipendra Singh Airee with 39 runs while Aasif Sheikh contributed 25 runs. The other batsmen could not score double-digit runs.
In reply, Karan KC took the highest 4 wickets while Milind Kumar, Sunny Patel and Rashid Khan took 2 wickets each for Kathmandu Gorkhas.
Chitwan Rhinos and Lumbini Lions will lock their horns in the 5th match of the NPL on Thursday. The match will begin at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur at 4 pm.
