Guna Airlines operator Rajendra Shakya has been arrested. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal police arrested Shakya for fraud, criminal breach of trust and offences under the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 BS.
Shakya, 60, of Pulchowk, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-3, was arrested from Bhani Mandal on Wednesday, said CIB spokesperson SSP Shiva Kumar Shrestha.
The CIB claims that Shakya is also an accomplice in the crime involving Prabhu Bank CEO Ashok Sherchan. Five people, including Sherchan, have already been arrested in the crime.
They are accused of causing damage to Prabhu Bank Limited and misusing the loan by disbursing loans worth millions to various companies to hide the same crime.
