200 and 500 denomination Indian currency notes now allowed

Indian Rupee currency notes of 200 and 500 denominations can now be carried up to INR 25,000.

The government has made arrangements to allow Nepali and Indian citizens to bring into the country and take to India a maximum of INR 25,000 of these denominations. The currency notes to be allowed to use should be those issued since November 9, 2016.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers took a decision to this effect, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel said.
