Prime Minister Sushila Karki is expanding her Council of Ministers for the fifth time. Minister Karki is set to appoint Balananda Sharma, a retired Lieutenant General of the Nepal Army, as the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
According to a source at the Prime Minister's Secretariat, Sharma’s swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 pm today. With this addition, the Karki cabinet will become a 15-member body. The Prime Minister continues to hold the portfolios for the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Water Supply.
