Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah has moved the Supreme Court against the Election Commission (EC).
Mayor Shah filed a writ against the EC in the Supreme Court today (Tuesday).
The EC had ordered him to pay a fine for not filing details of local level election expenses.
Shah was elected KMC mayor from May 13 local level election.
Mayor Shah filed a writ against the EC's decision to slap fine against him.
In the writ, he argued that the election body had forced the fine on him despite his submission of election expenditure details to the EC within the prescribed deadline of June 26. He also demanded annuling the EC decision.
