The election fever has gripped Siraha as the district gears up for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5. Nine candidates who are at the center of national politics and have already become ministers are contesting in all four constituencies of the district.
The large presence of former ministers in Siraha Constituency-4 in particular has made this constituency the center of everyone's attention.
In Siraha-1, it is seen that there will be a tough competition between former General Administration Minister Ram Chandra Yadav from Nepali Communist Party and outgoing Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
Similarly, in Siraha-3, former Law Minister Lilanath Shrestha from CPN-UML and former Peace and Reconstruction Minister Bishwanath Sah from NCP are in the election fray. It is expected that the competition will be interesting as they are both senior and experienced leaders.
In Siraha-4, five former ministers are in the election fray. Former Information and Communications Minister Rajkishore Yadav from Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal (JSP-N), former Justice and Law Minister Ajaya Shankar Nayak from CPN (UML), and former General Administration Minister Dharmanath Prasad Sah are the main contenders.
In addition, former Forest and Environment Minister Birendra Mahato from Janamat Party and Bahujan Shakti Party President and former Science and Technology Minister Biswendra Paswan are also in the election fray from this constituency.
In this constituency, which has a majority of veteran leaders, Nepali Congress has fielded Chandrakala Devi Yadav as a new face. Likewise, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has put forward Tapeshwar Yadav as its candidate from this constituency.
