Nepal secured a 2–1 victory over Bhutan in the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship match held at the Pokhara Stadium on Monday.
Nepal took the lead after Srijana Baduwal scored a goal against Bhutan in the 36th minute of the first half. Nepal doubled the score after Prajita Rai scored another goal in the 69th minute of the match.
In the 87th minute, the score tally remained at 2-1 after Sonam Choden scored a goal against Nepal.
Earlier, Bangladesh had defeated India 2-0 in the first match.
Earlier, both Nepal and Bhutan lost their first match against India and Bangladesh, respectively. Nepal was defeated by India 1–0 in the first match.
With this, Bangladesh is atop the points tally with six points followed by India and Nepal with 3 points each.
Nepal will now take on Bangladesh at 3 pm on February 4.

The Championship will be conducted in a 'round robin league' format, where each team will play one match against every other team. After the league phase of the competition, the top two teams will compete for the title in the final match on February 7.
Four teams -- Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Bhutan -- are participating in the tournament. The competition is coordinated by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) and the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
