Italy has won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first in its second match under the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.
Nepal has scored 85 runs in 12.3 overs losing 3 wickets in the much-awaited match that kicked off at 3 pm.
Italy and Nepal, which belong to Group C, are winless so far. Nepal faced a 4-run defeat against England, and Italy lost to Scotland by 73 runs in their first matches.

While Italy is making its tournament debut, this marks Nepal's third appearance in the T20 World Cup. It had defeated Hong Kong by 80 runs in 2014 and Afghanistan by 9 runs in 2024.
Of the five teams from Group C, West Indies is atop the points table with 4 points from two wins while Scotland and England are in the second and third positions, respectively. Despite having equal 2 points, Scotland ranks second based on run rate.
There are four groups, each having five teams in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Top two teams will advance into the Super 8.
The T20 World Cup, featuring 20 teams, has been taking place in India and Sri Lanka since February 7, simultaneously.
