Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has vowed to make Nepal a land where no citizen will have to face state violence simply for questioning the authority.
Addressing a commitment assembly organized in Janakpurdham on Wednesday, Thapa pledged to build Nepal where the authority will listen to the voices of the youth.
"No youth will have to die at the hands of police just for questioning the authority as they did on September 9. No youth will feel so desperate that they are driven to set Singha Durbar ablaze in new Nepal we are envisaging to build," said Thapa.
He pledged to build the country where the Prime Minister will not be involved in corruption. "We pledge that the Prime Minister is never embroiled in any graft cases," said Thapa, "No one will have to suffer from falsified legal cases. You won't have to chase government officials in Kathmandu to get your work done. Services will be available at your doorstep."
In the next 10 years, Thapa expressed commitments that he will build Nepal where every citizen can live with dignity. "We will transform Nepal into a country where each Nepali can live with dignity," said Thapa, "We will build dignified, prosperous Nepal that stands proud on the global stage."
Nepali Congress has made public its election manifesto in a mass meeting held in Janakpurdham. Addressing the commitment assembly, Thapa pledged that his party will leave no stone unturned to fulfill the commitments outlined in the election manifesto. "I have not come here to announce the roles of King Janak, but to express commitments," said Thapa, " NC, as King Janak did, will not move an inch from its commitment."
