Senior lawmaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Pashupati Shumsher Rana has called an all-party meeting today (Friday).
Parliamentary party leaders and the chief whips of the parties have been called for the meeting to be held at 1 pm. The independent lawmakers have also been called to the meeting.
The meeting has been called to prepare agendas of for the first meeting of the HoR. The first meeting of HoR is taking place on January 10.
The all-party meeting will dwell on the issues including appointment of the speaker, the vote of confidence which the government is making preparations and the address of the President.
There is a general practice that the President will address the newly elected parliament.
The meeting will also make a preparation to this end.
