The government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah has decided to introduce two ordinances bypassing the parliament. The cabinet meeting held on Monday had recommended two ordinances to the President.
The cabinet meeting has decided to introduce an ordinance related to the Constitutional Council and cooperative issues. As per the decision of the cabinet, both ordinances have been submitted to the President for approval.
The Office of the President has stated that President Paudel is reviewing both the ordinances sent by the government. "The two ordinances sent by the government have been received this afternoon. They are being reviewed, "a highly-placed source at Sheetal Niwas told Nepalkhabar.
Earlier, the cabinet meeting on April 21 had recommended convening a session of both houses of the federal parliament. Based on the government's recommendation, President Paudel had called the session on April 30.
Two days later, the cabinet meeting held on April 23 had decided to recommend adjourning the parliament session. President Paudel had adjourned the parliament session based on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
The cabinet meeting held (April 27) four days after the recommendation to adjourn the parliament session, officially took a decision to this effect.
