Meena Kharel has been elected as the president of the Nepal Women Association.
Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa elected Kharel as the president of the Women Association. According to the decision of the Congress Central Work Performance Committee, Thapa has appointed Kharel as the president, according to the acting chief secretary of NC, Krishna Prasad Dulal.
Originally from Chitwan, Kharel was a candidate from Chitwan-2 in the House of Representatives elections held on March 5. She lost to Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane.
She has also been mandated to hold a general convention by February 27, 2027.
