The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that Nepal is currently under the influence of western and local winds alongside a low pressure system in the eastern part of Nepal.
According to the bulletin issued by the division at 8 am today, the weather is currently generally cloudy in Koshi Province, partially cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of the rest of the province, and mainly clear in the rest of the province. Moderate to heavy rain with thunder/lightning is occurring in a few places in Bagmati Province and light rain is occurring in one or two places in Koshi Province.
It will be generally cloudy in the mountainous and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, including Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces. It will be partially cloudy in the Terai and mountainous and mountainous areas of Madhesh Province and the rest of the province, while the weather will be mainly clear in the rest of the Terai. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall at a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Madhesh Province, Lumbini and Karnali provinces, as well as at one or two places in the Terai areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Moderate to heavy rain forecast in Kathmandu
The weather has also been cloudy in Kathmandu Valley since this morning. According to Meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari of the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is no possibility of good sunshine in Kathmandu Valley today.
"Although there is a possibility of clear weather in the afternoon, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in Kathmandu Valley again in the afternoon or evening," he told Nepalkhabar.
It also rained in some places in the Kathmandu Valley, including Kapan, in the morning.
According to meteorologists, if less than 10 millimeters of rain falls within 24 hours, it is called light rain, if more than 10 millimeters but less than 50 millimeters of rain falls, it is called moderate rain, and if more than 50 millimeters but less than 100 millimeters of rain falls in 24 hours, it is called heavy rain.
Similarly, if more than 100 millimeters but less than 200 millimeters of rain falls in 24 hours, it is called very heavy rain, and if more than 200 millimeters of rain falls, it is called extremely heavy rain.
