Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global have signed an agreement to operate two new luxury and premium hotels in Nepal’s capital: The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu and The Westin Kathmandu. Expected to be operational by 2031, these projects will add approximately 300 "keys" to Marriott’s portfolio and are poised to attract high-end tourists.

CG Hospitality Global is the expanding hospitality wing of Chaudhary Group, Nepal’s largest and most diversified multinational company. The Westin Kathmandu and Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu will be built in partnership with Nepal’s leading hospitality conglomerates: Chaudhary Group, IEG Group, IJ Group, and Sharma & Company. This collaboration strengthens the existing hospitality partnership between Marriott and Chaudhary Group in South Asia.

The signing ceremony was attended by prominent leaders, including David Marriott (Chairman of the Board of Marriott International Inc.), Binod Chaudhary, Managing Director and CEO of CG Corp Global), and Rahul Chaudhary, CEO and Managing Director of CG Hospitality Global. Also present were Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International Inc.) and Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International Inc., alongside the Presidents and CEOs of IEG Group, IJ Group, and Sharma & Company. Both Rajeev Menon and Rahul Chaudhary expressed confidence that these iconic properties will elevate Nepal's tourism industry, create local jobs, and drive regional economic development.

Marking the brand’s entry into Nepal, The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu will be located in Thamel, just 5 kilometers from Tribhuvan International Airport. It will feature 150 elegant rooms, including 30 spacious suites. The property will offer five distinct restaurants and bars, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, and over 1,100 square meters of state-of-the-art conference and event space. Its location provides easy access to nearby cultural heritage sites like Narayanhiti Durbar Museum, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple.

Located approximately 7 kilometers from Tribhuvan International Airport, The Westin Kathmandu will also offer 150 premium rooms and suites. Designed around the brand's exclusive wellness programs to reduce travel fatigue, the hotel will feature three dining venues, a WestinWorkout® fitness studio, Heavenly Spa by Westin, and a rooftop swimming pool. Additionally, it will house over 700 square meters of meeting and banquet facilities equipped with natural light and smart technology.
