Supporters of Rabi Lamichhane, who was rendered stateless following the verdict of the Supreme Court on Friday, have staged a demonstration in the capital on Saturday.
Demonstrators staged a protest rally from Maitighar to New Baneshwor this afternoon, shouting slogans in favor of Lamichhane.
Hearing on the writ related to Lamichhane’s citizenship case, Supreme Court on Friday issued a verdict declaring Lamichhane a stateless on the ground of not retaining the citizenship of Nepal. With the verdict, Lamichhane has been stripped of the Member of Parliament.
He tendered his resignation as the DPM and HM following the Supreme Court Verdict yesterday itself.
