Nepal runners-up in SAFF C’ship yet again

Nepal became runners-up of the SAFF U-20 Women's Championship after losing to the home team Bangladesh.

After defeating Nepal, Bangladesh won the SAFF Championship title for the third time. The history of 2018 has repeated itself with Nepal's defeat in the SAFF U-20 Women's Championship. 

In 2018, in the SAFF U18 Championship, Nepal lost to Bangladesh by 1-0 and became the runner-up. 
Bangladesh won the 2018 and 2021 championship titles.

In the finals held at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Mustofa Stadium in the capital city Dhaka, Nepal lost to Bangladesh 0-3 in the finals.

After trailing 2-0 in the first half, Nepal conceded 1 more goal in the second half. In the second half, Nepal had some chances to score, but could not capitalize on them.

In the 42nd minute of the game, Bangladesh's Shaheda Akter Ripa scored a goal and Nepal was trailing 0-1.

In the injury time of the first half, Bangladesh captain Shamsunnahar Jr. doubled the lead. In the 87th minute of the game, Bangladesh's Unnati Khatun scored third goal against Nepal.
