Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said that he has considered the agreement between the 8 parties as a national agreement.

Prime Minister Prachanda said this while addressing a program organized on the occasion of Mahendra Narayan Nidhi's 101st birth anniversary.

“I understand that what has happened between the 8 parties is a national consensus. Now it is necessary for us to get together, it was necessary to engage everyone in the political process.'' said Prime Minister Prachanda.

He also said that he has proposed UML Chair KP Sharma Oli to give the presidency to the Nepali Congress as the largest party.

“With the belief that I should once again take the initiative, I spoke to UML Chair KP Sharma Oli yesterday. I urged him to agree on taking ahead Nepali Congress for presidency with the consent of him and me," the Prime Minister said, " I said let's make a new national consensus. He did not agree to that.'

Also, he said, now the CPN-UML is not in a position to go anywhere.

He said that the ministers of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) submitted their resignations to him on Saturday afternoon, and now they will go through a new legal process.

“Yes, they can go to the opposition, just today all the ministers of RPP resigned. Probably now we have to go through a new legal process," said Prachanda, "but there is still the speaker of the UML. They should not be able to escape from there.”

“Yesterday, I said that it is the consensus of the entire nation that the 8 parties should support the Congress in the presidency.”
