A hearing is being held in the Supreme Court today on whether it is right to release the rape -accused cricketer, Sandeep Lamichhane, on bail or he should be sent back to prison.

Lamichhane is fighting the case outside the jail after the High Court Patan released him on a bail of 2 million rupees.

The Supreme Court's hearing today will focus on whether the order to release him on bail is correct.

If the High Court Patan's decision is reversed, the Supreme Court can send Sandeep back to prison.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is also hearing the petition filed by Sandeep demanding that he should be allowed to go abroad.

After the High Court ordered the release of Sandeep on bail on January 12, the High Public Prosecutor's Office filed a petition against it in the Supreme Court on behalf of the victims.

The victim side demands that Sandeep be  invested further by keeping him in prison.
