In pics: Marigolds bloom as Tihar approaches

With four days to go before Bhai Tika, the main day of Tihar festival, famers are busy plucking flowers and weaving garlands in Birendranagar, the capital city of Karnali Province.

This is the peak season for florists to reap benefits by selling flowers business. Famers along with Journalists have also cultivated flowers to meet the market demands in Surkhet.

Dhan Bahadur Thapa, a local of Birendranagar municipality-3, had sold 60,000 nurseries of flowers of different species including marigold. Thapa is the operator of Jharana Nursery. He has done a flower farming in an area of four kathas of land.

Similarly, Harihar Singh Rathore, a journalist based in Birendranagar-8, Khajura, is also engaged in the flowers business.   



With the Tihar festival already set in, he is busy plucking flowers alongside taking on journalism.
