Nepal's Sunmaya wins 50-km trail race in Hong Kong

Nepal's Sunmaya Budha.

Nepal's Sunmaya Budha set a new record by winning the famous The North Face Ultra Trail Race held in Hong Kong. 

In the 50-km category, she completed the set distance in 6 hours 12 minutes 25 seconds in the race completed at Tai Mei Tuk Country Trail in Sai Kung, Hong Kong on Saturday morning and won the race with a new record.

Sunmaya, who took the lead from the start of the race, beat her nearest competitor by 34 minutes.

Similarly, China's Mei Ling Xu completed the set distance in 6 hours 45 minutes 38 seconds and finished second while Hong Kong's Kee Chung Wong finished third in 7 hours 13 minutes 21 seconds.

The winner of the highly technical race receives an attractive cash prize along with shopping coupons.

Sunmaya has joined The North Face Adventure Team as a full-timer.
