Ruling alliance strikes no deal on cabinet expansion; to meet on Thursday

The ruling alliance parties including the Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist) have held discussion regarding the government expansion.

During the meeting held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar on Wednesday, discussion was held on contemporary issues including cabinet expansion, said NC leader Ramesh Lekhak. "Some leaders of ruling alliance held meeting regarding contemporary political issues.

Discussion was held on the issue of expansion of cabinet today. The meeting focused on giving full-shape to the government at the earliest", he added. Leader Lekhak clarified that the Prime Minister had not made a decision regarding providing Rs 200,000 to every disqualified combatant of the then Maoist rebel party.

Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice-President Purna Bahadur Khadka, Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, and Janata Samajbadi Party Chair Upendra Yadav were present on the occasion.
