Social networking site Twitter has removed the 'blue tick' from non-paying users as per the company's rules.

Twitter has removed the checkmarks from those who did not pay for the blue checkmark verification that was already in place.

The ‘blue-tick’ has also been removed from the account of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' in Nepal. The check mark of the @PMONepal account used by Prachanda has been removed.

Similarly, the check mark of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's account has also been removed. Famous people outside Nepal have also been stripped of their blue checkmarks.

After Elon Musk bought it, Twitter had already introduced the rule of paying $8 per month for blue checkmark. But after millions of users did not pay for the check mark, it was removed.

Twitter has started removing blue tick marks from non-paying individuals, organizations and even media companies.

Twitter gives business accounts a golden checkmark without subscriptions. Government accounts have been given a gray checkmark.

After fake news and obscene content started coming on Twitter, the company started verification to prevent fake accounts since 2009.

The blue verified bade system, which was free for about 13 years, was charged in 2022 when it was procured by Elon Musk.
