Norwegian climber Kristin Harila, who came to Nepal to break the record of the world famous climber Nirmal Purja, has returned home after her attempt failed.

Harila, who came to Nepal with the goal of scaling 14 mountains higher than 8,000 meters in a period of six months, has returned home postponing her climbing attempt for next year.

However, Kristin has scaled 12 out of 14 mountains. She had to climb mountains Choyu and Sisapang to complete her journey of 14 mountains. China's route is considered easy to summit those two mountains.

But China did not give Kristin permission to climb those mountains. Although she was denied permission by China, she tried to climb those two mountains from Nepal. Unfortunately, her attempt failed due to bad weather.

While returning home, Kristin shared that she could not get permission from China  due to reasons beyond her control and vowed to make it within six months next year.

'We have left no stone unturned during this process, all possible measures for this have been exhausted. But unfortunately, due to reasons beyond our control, we could not get permission on time,' said Kristin. She has now returned to Norway.

In 2019, a Nepal-born naturalized British climber Nirmal Purja set a world record by climbing 14 mountains higher than 8,000 meters in six months. Kristin is struggling to set a new world record by breaking Purja's record.
