By-elections are being held in three vacant constituencies for the House of Representatives on Sunday.
The voting is underway in all the three constituencies from 7 am.
According to the Election Commission (EC), polling has been going on peacefully in all the three regions so far.
By-elections are taking place in Chitwan-2, Bara-2 and Tanahun-1.
Chitwan-2 lay vacant after the Supreme Court scrapped the position of Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
Lamichhane from RSP, Jitnarayan Shrestha from Congress and Ram Prasad Neupane from UML are contesting the elections in this constituency.
Similarly, the election from Tanahun-1 became vacant after Ram Chandra Paudel became the President.
Candidates in Tanahun-1 include Govinda Bhattarai of Congress, Swarnim Wagle of RSP and Sarbendra Khanal of UML.
Similarly, with the election of Vice President from Bara-2, this constituency lay vacant.
Janata Samajbadi President Upendra Yadav, Shivchandra Kushwaha from Janamat Party, Purushottam Paudel from UML, Ramesh Kharel from Rastriya Swatantra Party and others are contesting the elections.
