Tek Narayan Pandey, the secretary at the Office of the Vice President, who was involved in making fake refugees and sending them abroad, has been arrested.
Dr Indrajit Rai, the security advisor to the then Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal', was arrested on Tuesday itself in the case of fake refugees.
Pandey, who was involved in the same case, was arrested on Wednesday by the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
Pandey was arrested based on the statements given by Keshav Dulal and Rai who were arrested earlier.
He has been kept on the premises of the District Police Range, Kathmandu and the investigation has been initiated.
A preliminary investigation by the police reveals that Pandey colluded with the racketeers that sent fake refugees to America while he was working as Home Secretary.
Pandey was arrested after those who were caught earlier also confirmed his involvement in the fake refugee case.
