The main ruling Nepali Congress is now distributing party memberships online.
The decision was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday under the presidency of Congress Membership Management Central Committee and General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa.
Now, Nepali citizens who want to become members of the Congress can go to the party's website to apply and pay the membership fee.
After filling out the membership form, the information will be sent to the mobile phone. The membership card with a photo will be given online after completing the necessary process from the party central office.
Earlier, the Center was providing membership cards to people who were active members of the Congress. Now the party district office can print it and provide it to the concerned person.
According to the constitution of the Congress, the active membership has to be renewed every year. According to the committee, the regular process of active membership renewal annually has been started.
The district office will fill out the renewal details online after completing the necessary procedures as per the law from the subordinate bodies.
In this way, it has been arranged that the membership card of the renewed person will be provided to the member by online or printed by the district working committee.
The statute of the Congress stipulates that new active membership should be continuously distributed to eligible persons at any time other than the year of the general convention.
According to the committee, continuous distribution of membership has been started from this year. If those who wish to become active members can apply at the ward level of the party, the details of active membership will be filled out online by the Regional Working Committee of the House of Representatives. The Congress said that after all the details are recorded, the membership card will be provided from there, said central party's Acting Chief Secretary Dr. Pradeep Parajuli.
