All the passengers aboard the Manang Air chopper with the 9N AMV call sign that crashed at Lamajura area in Dudhkunda Municipality-2 in Solukhumbu on Tuesday morning have been identified.
According to a passengers manifest provided by the Manang Air, the passengers include SIFUENTES G. FERANDO, GONZALEZ ABRICA, GONZALEZ OLACIO LUZ, SIFUENTES MARIA JOSE, and RINCON ISMAEL. The captain CB Gurung was flying the chopper.
The Central Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Kuber Kadayat, confirmed that all the passengers in the chopper were Mexican nationals.
The helicopter took off from Surke helipad in Solukhumbu for Kathmandu at 10:5 am and lost went out of contact after 8 minutes, according to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
A police team is heading towards the accident site after the locals reported that the plane had crashed near Lamajura in Dudhkunda Rural Municipality-2.
According to Koshi Province Police Chief DIG Rajesh Nath Bastola, a team headed by ASI has left for the accident site after being informed by the locals.
