Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) under the Federal Parliament has conducted a hearing of the two ambassadorial nominees recommended for United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait on Thursday.

A meeting of the PHC held on Thursday conducted the hearing of Ambassador Tej Bahadur Chhetri recommended for UAE and Ghanashyam Lamsal for Kuwait.

The proposed ambassadors during the hearing said they would play a constructive role of bolstering ties of the two countries if they were given the ambassadorial responsibilities.

Speaking at the meeting, proposed ambassador to UAE Chhetri said he would do his best to assist Nepali migrant workers in the country if he were appointed as the ambassador.

He further said that he would leave no stone unturned to improve the bilateral ties between the two countries and work for the interest of Nepal in coordination with the UAE government.

Similarly, the proposed ambassador to Kuwait Ghanashyam Lamsal said he would work for the interest of Nepal taking into consideration independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and self-respect of Nepal if he were endorsed by the PHC.

Lamsal further said he would work for the rights and interest of Nepali citizens working in Kuwait.

Commenting that the ambassadors remain sedentary once they are assigned as ambassadors to foreign countries, lawmakers advised the nominees to sincerely work for the interest and rights of the Nepali migrant workers in the coming days.
