Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Ramesh Lekhak.

Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Ramesh Lekhak has said the arrest of Member of Parliament (MP) Sunil Sharma is unexpected and objectionable.

He said so while talking to journalists after the parliamentary party meeting of the party held on Friday.

“The arrest of Nepali Congress MP Sunil Sharma is unexpected, unfair and objectionable. This matter is serious", he said, "We will make public the views of the Congress on this matter.”

Lekhak said that the PP meeting dwelled on five issues and took decisions in today’s meeting, accordingly.

According to Lekhak, the meeting has decided to urge the government to bring a special relief program for the people hit by floods and landslides in the country.

Similarly, Lekhak said that it was decided to ask the government to compensate the farmers and provide treatment as thousands of cattle died due to the spread of lumpy skin across the country.

Likewise, the government has to make special arrangements of control of dengue and eye diseases spreading across the country, Lekhak said.

Similarly, the government’s attention has been drawn towards the fact that the paddy plantation has not be done due to the shortage of water in Madhes Province.

The meeting has been adjourned for Sunday 12:30 pm, he said.
