Under the Indra Jatra festival, a towering wooden pole (lingo) has been installed at the Hanumandhoka of Basantapur Durbar Square at an auspicious hour of 10:37 am today as advised by the Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee.

The moment is traditionally observed as the 'Indradhwojotthan'. The lingo was brought from Bhaktapur to install it at Hanumandhoka, according to the Hanumandhoka Durbar Management and Conservation Office Chief Sandeep Khanal.

With the installation of the lingo in the upright position, the Indra Jastra festival has formally kicked off in Hanumandhoka and it will be celebrated with great enthusiasm for the next week.

President Ramchandra Paudel and several other dignitaries are scheduled to visit Hanumandhoka on September 28 to observe the major celebrations of the festival.
