Israel-Hamas war: PM calls cabinet and all party meeting

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has called a cabinet meeting at 4 pm and an all-party meeting at 5 pm today, Prachanda's press coordinator Surya Kiran said.

In the meeting, the latest situation in Israel, the status of Nepalis in the war-torn country, the diplomatic initiatives to be taken by the government for the repatriation of Nepali citizens, among other issues will be discussed.

The Prime Minister has taken diplomatic initiatives for their rescue and their repatriation to Nepal due to the crisis caused by Israel-Hamas war and the fear of Nepali citizens.

He has given instructions to the Nepali Embassy in Israel through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to understand the situation of the injured Nepali citizens and take initiatives for their rescue.

The Prime Minister on Sunday morning called an emergency meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Defense, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Affairs Minister, Foreign Minister, Education Minister, National Security Adviser, Foreign Secretary and the heads of security agencies in Baluwatar to discuss the situation of Nepalis trapped in the Israel-Hamas war.

The meeting formed a Rapid Action Team comprising Foreign Minister NP Saud, representatives of related ministries including foreign affairs, representatives of security agencies, foreign embassies. The team is doing the necessary homework for the rescue and repatriation of the Nepali people.

The government has also set up a rapid information system to prepare the details of Nepali citizens who want to return home from Israel.
