The Nepali Congress has decided to take the initiative to form a government under its own leadership in Koshi Province. This decision was taken by the meeting of the central working committee (CWC) of the party held on Tuesday.
Bhupendra Rai, Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Koshi Province, told Nepalkhabar that the Congress has decided to form the government in Koshi Province, keeping the alliance intact.
"The office-bearers' meeting has decided not to quit the alliance in Koshi and take the initiative to form a government under the NC’s leadership," Rai told Nepalkhabar.
The Chief of Koshi Province, Parshuram Khapung, has already called for the formation of the government according to Article 168 (5) by October 13.
Earlier, Hikmat Karki, the Chief Minister of the government formed as the largest party in line with Article 168 (3), resigned after failing to receive a vote of confidence.
