Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has called for restraints and maturity not to let latest political developments in Koshi Province deteriorate further.

Taking to X (Twitter), General Secretary Sharma said that if another alliance would be appropriate, there should be an institutional discussion within the current alliance.

"No one should take any decision on impulse without making an institutional decision," Sharma said, "We can get 'divorce' with consent, but we should not keep an illicit affairs with a person in the neighbourhood over minor domestic dispute. Let's not forget the incident of December 25, 2022.”

Sharma has also said that there is no agreement that Koshi Province is a party of Nepali Congress, Karnali belongs to Maoist Center or Madhes is a part of Janata Samajbadi Party.

“This issue should be managed in a mature manner," he said, "Once an alliance is formed, the concerned parties have to deal with everything good or bad. They have to adopt a culture of cooperation when there is no absolute majority."
