Hong Kong wins NRNA Women’s Secretary

Tika Gurung elected to the post

The new leadership of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has been elected through direct and online voting held in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Under the new leadership, Tika Gurung (Radhika), who has been working in Hong Kong for a long time, has been elected as the Women's Secretary.

The 11th International Convention of NRNA elected a new leadership for a two-year term (2023-25).

Dr Badri KC has been elected as the president of the NRNA. Gurung had been nominated for the post of women’s secretary from KC's panel. She secured 2,320 votes.

Gurung has been involved in social works in Hong Kong for a long time. Gurung, who has been involved in NRNA since 2006, is the former president of the NRNA, Hong Kong.

For the first time, Hong Kong was defeated for the term of 2015-17 as the president of the association, then she became the president for two terms in 2017-19 and 2019-21.

Gurung, who is active in social service, was honored by the Hong Kong government with the 'Chief Executive Commendation for Community Service' in 2018.
