Supreme Court Chief Justice Shrestha off to China

Supreme Court Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha has left for China.

A six-member team led by Chief Justice Shrestha flew to China on a one-week visit at the invitation of the President of the Supreme People's Court of China, Zang Jun.

The Chief Justice's delegation is scheduled to pay an official visit to the Supreme People's Court of China from November 1 to 3.

His wife Roshni Amatya Shrestha, Justice Dr. Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and his wife Pushpa Bhattarai, Supreme Court Chief Registrar Lal Bahadur Kunwar, and Officer Navin Kumar Yadav are participating in the visiting team led by Chief Justice Shrestha. Chief Justice Shrestha's team is scheduled to return home on November 13.

During his stay in China, Chief Justice Shrestha will have a formal meeting with the President of the Supreme People's Court of China and high-ranking officials of the court, and discuss the issues related to the law and justice system, Supreme Court Spokesperson Bhadrakali Pokharel has informed.

Prior to that, the Nepali delegation is scheduled to participate in the Central Asia and South Asia Legal Forum organized by the China Law Society from October 29 to 31 in Xinjiang Province, according to a press note issued by Pokharel.
