HoR budget session ends

The budget session of the House of Representatives (HoR) has ended on Thursday at midnight (12:00).

HoR Speaker Devraj Ghimire read out a letter received from the Office of the President in this regard on Thursday's HoR meeting.

In the meeting, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung tabled the second and third reports of National Dalit Commission on behalf of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.

Commenced on May 7, this session of the HoR held meetings for 180 days and witnessed 65 meetings in 61 days, the Federal Parliament Secretariat said.

Likewise, six joint meetings of the HoR and National Assembly (NA) were held during the period.

Similarly, three question-answer sessions were held with the Prime Minister on May 18, June 23, and August 29 as per the Rule 56 (5) of the HoR Regulations, 2079 BS.

A total of nine bills including one private were registered in the HoR during this session and three of them were passed from both Houses. Likewise, three bills are under consideration in the Committees and two were just tabled in the HoR while the next one was registered.

During this session of the HoR, the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also addressed the joint meeting of the HoR and NA on October 31.
