The United States of America has provided relief materials to the residents of Jajarkot in response to last Friday’s earthquake.

Expressing sincere condolences to the families of those lost during this tragic event, the US Embassy in Kathmandu said, “Nepali Armed Police Force are utilizing United States #SOCPAC Disaster Relief System supplies to provide aid to residents of Jajarkot in Friday’s earthquake response.”

The relief materials include tents, sleeping bags, dustbins, buckets, utensils among others, said the embassy, adding, "the US government is committed to ensuring that Nepali partners have the means to this disaster."

An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck the hilly region of Karnali Province with its epicenter at Ramidanda in Jajarkot on Friday night, leaving scores of people dead and hundreds of others injured.
