CPN-UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai, who was trailing behind since the beginning of the vote counting, finally made a comeback and registered his second win in the House of Representatives (HoR) from Taplejung.
Bhattarai managed to win the elections after the counting of votes in Fungling municipality area started.
Bhattarai defeated Khelprasad Budha Chhetri of the CPN (Maoist Center) from the ruling alliance by a margin of 208 votes.
Bhattarai garnered 21, 943votes while closest rival Budhathoki Chhetri received 21,735 votes.
However, the result is yet to officially be announced by the Election Officer’s office.
