Belgian envoy pays courtesy call on newly appointed Foreign Secretary Lamsal

Newly appointed non-resident Ambassador of Belgium to Nepal Didier Anna L. Vanderhasselt paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal on Friday.

Held at the latter’s office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, various aspects of Nepal-Belgium relations were discussed in the meeting, the Foreign Ministry posted on X, formally known as Twitter.

Lamsal assumed office today as the first female Foreign Secretary of Nepal. A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday appointed senor most Joint Secretary Lamsal as the 25th Foreign Secretary of Nepal.

After assuming office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Lamsal pledged to implement a balanced foreign policy by putting the national interests of the country at the center.

Having worked as the Ambassador to Pakistan, she earlier served as the deputy head of the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in New York.
