Adrian Pokharel of Nepali origin has announced his candidacy for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the United States of America.
Parliamentary elections are being held in the US next year in 435 constituencies of 50 states. In preparation for that, Pokharel has announced that he will contest in the 10th congressional district election of the US State of Virginia.
Originally from Dharan in the eastern district of Sunsari, Nepal, Pokharel has prepared to run the elections for the US House of Representatives on behalf of the Democratic Party.
"I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Virginia's 10th Congressional District," Pokharel said, “I come from the background of national security and will represent my district with unity and dedication.”
He has worked in the US National Security Agency (NSA) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He has more than two decades of military experience.
Apart from the military, he has gained 15 years of experience in the private sector including aviation, law and railways.
"This diverse professional experience can play an important role in economic growth and job creation in the district", he mentioned on his election-targeted website.
He is currently pursuing his PhD and has the ability to critically analyze complex issues.
